Chapter 10
~Eric’s~
“What do we do now?” Ryan asked
“We follow her lead” Eric answered pointing at the witch
The witch started chanting a spell and two pathways closed. She walked through the pathway that was left open.
“Let’s move ” Eric ordered
They all followed the witch and she lead them to a village that looked very weird. Everyone was busy here and there. There were buys and sellers all over. Back home they had no such thing. The witch lead them to a shop where they made a halt.
“Why did you stop?” Eric asked
“Patience Alpha, patience…” She replied
They stood there for a while and Eric began to get angry. He didn’t like it that he has to take others from a witch.
“We have to move from here now” Eric ordered
“Wait for it,” the witch said holding her hands up in a way that says for everyone to keep quiet.
On hearing this, Eric became very angry and was about to do something bad to her when suddenly…
“There she is,” the witch said
“Who, that old lady?” Eric asked
“What those she has to do with who we are looking for?” He added
“She’s the key to what you are looking for. So you just have to wait now” the witch said
“Okay,” Eric said in agreement but was not happy about it.
They all waited till nightfall when the old lady was about to go home. They followed her to her house and were amazed too by what they saw. The house was exactly like the other one they just left. They waited till she went inside. They entered her house and found her sitting down in her living room.
“Hello aunty, miss me,” the witch said with a devilish smile
The old lady was shocked to see her.
“Greeta what are you doing here?” She asked only for her to turn and saw Eric standing next to her.
“You wretched witch…” The old lady said
“Yes, yes, you can call me whatever you want but I’m not here for that. Where are they?” Greeta asked
“Who are you talking about?” The old lady asked pretending she didn’t know who Greeta was talking about.
“Don’t play dumb with me you old lady?” Greeta said walking around her living room only to discover a picture.
“It’s her, she’s the one. Where is she?” Greeta asked
“I don’t know anything?” The old lady said trying to act innocent.
“Is she not your granddaughter?” Greeta asked
“Even if she is, why would I tell you where she is?” The old lady said calmly.
“Don’t worry, I will find her myself” Greeta said as she gave Ryan a sign to kill her. Ryan looked at Eric because he there not take orders from anyone apart from him. Eric nodded in response. Ryan slit her throat with his claws.
“So what now?” Eric asked trying so hard not to take orders from the witch.
“Now we move” Greeta replied as she walked straight to the old lady’s room. Went to her wardrobe and did the same thing she did at the other house and the wardrobe opened a pathway. They followed the pathway.
~Rhea’s POV~
Wandering around, Jaden kept asking questions and it was becoming unbearable for me. Very soon, I would run out of answers. Suddenly, I saw a lady running towards us.
“Please, help me.” She said pointing at the men who were after.
“What did you do?” I asked looking at the huge men who stood in front of me.
Before I knew what was going on, they were all on the ground. I turned to Jaden,
“What the hell did you do?” I asked surprised at what had just happened
“Wow! That was fast. We better live here now before more of them will come for us” the lady said as she urged us to follow her.
We got to a point where we made a halt.
“Thanks for saving me,” the Lady said
“No problem. Just don’t get yourself into trouble again” Jaden said
“Getting in trouble is all I do these days” she replied
“Let me guess, you’re a witch and you are a werewolf. Am I right? ” she said
“Don’t ask how I know, because I don’t even know myself” she added
Shocked by what she just said, Jaden and I started at each other confused.
“But how did you do it,” I asked
“I don’t know, it’s just that I can sense when magic is used or someone extraordinary is around. Also, I can tell what or who it is” she answered
“By the way, I’m Lucy” she introduced herself
“I’m Jaden and this is Rhea,” Jaden said
“Are you both siblings or are you both a…” Lucy said smiling
“No, we are not.” I cut her shot.
“Okay” she replied
“Jaden, we have to keep going. We don’t have much time” I said to Jaden and he nodded in response
“Alright pretty Lady” Jaden said
“It’s Lucy” she corrected
“Alright Lucy, hope to see you again,” Jaden said to her as we turned to take our leave.
“Wait,” Lucy said
Jaden and I turned back to hear what she wants to say.
“Can I come along?” Lucy asked
“Come along?” I asked confused
“No way, you can’t. It’s dangerous. Besides, you don’t even know where we are going to.” I stated
“Please, let me come along. I don’t have anywhere to go to” she pleaded
Jaden drew me to the other side and said
“Let her come with us, she can be of help to us, and besides I think she knows us more than we do know ourselves. Let her just tag along”
“Okay, fine. You can join us but don’t blame us if you get killed on the way” I stated
“You don’t need to worry about me” she replied.
We continued our journey till we came to a spot and decided to camp for the night. We made a fire with the dry woods we found and sat close to it to keep warm.
“So tell me, what’s your story, why are you out here alone?” I asked Lucy
“Uhmmm, I lived with my grandfather but he recently passed away. So I’m all alone” she said sadly
“What about your parents?” I asked
“My parents? Hmm, I never met them. Though my grandfather showed me a picture of my father before he died” she replied
For some reason, I walked up to her and asked her to give me her right hand. Amazingly, she had the final missing mark on the drawing my grandmother gave to me.
“I have something to say,” I said as Jaden and Lucy turned to be confused by the way I was acting
Tears rolled down my eyes. I didn’t know how to say it but I had to before it will be too late.
