Chapter 1022
He suddenly thought of something. If Master Franklin's eyes had recovered, wouldn't he realize that it was Sylvia who gave him acupuncture every day?
Jasper quickly took out his phone to notify Sylvia.
Sylvia had originally planned to visit the presidential palace again. When she received Jasper's message, she was stunned.
It was a day earlier than she had expected.
She quickly replied to Jasper, "I won't go today."
It was not the right time to meet Franklin yet.
The biggest obstacle between her and him had not been removed; she couldn't see him.
After all, the president was a very dangerous person.
As long as this dangerous person remained unsettled, she and Franklin could never live peacefully.
Besides the president, there were also Tyrell and his wife. She desperately wanted to find out what kind of relationship or deal existed between Tyrell, his wife, and the president.
Unfortunately, the satisfaction she felt from seeing Franklin every day over the past few days suddenly burst like a balloon-gone without a trace.
She felt a bit stifled, suffocated, and uneasy.
It was painful.
But she held it in.
After calming herself down, she began practicing her formation techniques. While practicing the Search Array, she frowned slightly.
The Search Array was used to detect nearby formations. As a beginner, she could only search within a few kilometers.
In the future, it might be possible to search within ten or even a hundred miles. But her current abilities were limited.
She first tried searching the courtyard where she and Old Mrs. Hipps lived.
It was clean, with nothing unusual.
She then searched the neighboring courtyard but found nothing there either.
After searching two courtyards in a row, she felt a bit tired and decided to stop.
Just as she stopped, there was a knock on the door. Sylvia wiped the sweat from her forehead and opened the door to see a tall man standing there.
Clare was dressed in beige loungewear, his tall frame making him look even more elegant and refined.
"Sylvia, our perfume company owes its revival to you. Next Wednesday, the company is hosting a celebration banquet to celebrate reaching sales of ten million bottles. So... will you attend?" Sylvia was taken aback. She hadn't been paying attention to the perfume business lately. Had they really sold ten million bottles in just a few days?
"That fast?"
"Absolutely. The perfume you developed has been selling exceptionally well, and customer feedback has been excellent," Clare said with a handsome and gentle smile.
"Alright then. I can attend," Sylvia nodded. The Hipps family had a vast business empire, so there were always various social engagements to attend.
Having just participated in the Sweeney family's charity auction, now she had to attend the Hipps family's celebration banquet.
She felt that being the Hipps family's young lady kept her quite busy.
"That's wonderful. Everyone is eager to meet you and communicate with you face-to-face. They cherish and look forward to this opportunity to interact with a perfume master like you," Clare said charmingly. Sylvia couldn't help but laugh, "Uncle, don't flatter me too much; I'll get conceited."
Clare looked at the young woman before him. She wore a cotton loungewear dress that revealed her slender, fair legs. Her figure was graceful, and her bright eyes were clear and sparkling. How could such a lovely child be in this family?
Franklin was lucky!
"It's already noon; come down for lunch," Clare said after checking the time. "The kitchen made your favorite crispy chicken and dumplings."
"You're making my mouth water," Sylvia said as she followed Clare downstairs to the dining room.
The aroma of food wafted through the air, making her realize how hungry she was after a busy morning.
Instead of sitting at the dining table, she went straight to the kitchen.
She personally served a plate of dumplings for Old Mrs. Hipps and another for Old Mr. Hipps.
Seeing how considerate and well-behaved she was, Clare's admiration for her grew even stronger. He quickly pushed aside a servant who was about to serve dumplings from the pot, "Sylvia, I'll serve yours." This warm and harmonious family atmosphere was exactly what he had always strived for.
If only he could marry Mollie sooner, it would be perfect.
Just as he thought this, his phone rang as he placed the dumplings in front of Sylvia.
"Hello."
Emiliano's anxious voice came through the phone, "Mr. Hipps, something's wrong. Mollie has drowned."
Clare's face instantly filled with shock, "Drowned? How is that possible? She's always been an excellent swimmer and has even won swimming competitions. How could such an expert drown?"
Emiliano was equally puzzled, "I don't know the specifics either. From the surveillance footage, it looked like she was in a trance. And it happened in the swimming pool in my backyard. She's played in that poo since she was a child. How could she drown there? She's still unconscious and being resuscitated."
"Alright, I'll apply for a flight route immediately and head back," Clare said urgently. His fiancée nearly drowning left him deeply worried.
He hung up the phone, ready to leave without even eating his meal.
Old Mrs. Hipps stopped him, "No matter how urgent it is, you need to eat first. Applying for a flight route takes time anyway. Eat your meal."
Clare irritably picked up his fork, "!
just hope Mollie is alright. This situation is too strange; I'm afraid
someone might have intentionally harmed her. It's hard to guard
against hidden dangers."
If it turned out that an enemy of the Hipps family was behind this, he would feel even more guilty and distressed.
Sylvia placed a chicken leg on Clare's plate and said with concern on her pretty face, "Uncle, don't worry too much. I'll go back with you."
At 2 PM, Clare personally piloted a private jet out of the capital city, with Sylvia accompanying him on board.
Meanwhile, in a hospital room in H Rovirsa Urgford, a woman lay quietly on a bed.
The medical equipment beeped rhythmically.
But she lay motionless.
Almost all members of the Gibson family had gathered at the hospital-her brothers Makhi and Emiliano, Old Mr. Gibson, and several ladies of the Gibson family. The atmosphere in the room was heavy with tension.
"Doctor, what's wrong with my sister? She just drowned; we forced the water out of her lungs. Why is she still unconscious?"
Emiliano was extremely anxious. The Gibson family had only one daughter among them all.
Everyone cherished her dearly.
"Let's observe for now. We've
administered medication and expelled the water; we've done all the tests. It might just be that her body hasn't fully recovered yet," the doctor said, puzzled himself.
Mollie's bodily functions appeared normal; why wasn't she waking up?
He shook his head and decided to consult with other doctors for further diagnosis.
"Don't worry too much; modern
medicine is advanced. She should
wake up soon from just drowning, a
young nurse said comfortingly before leaving with a blush after
seeing several handsome men in the room.
But these handsome men were entirely focused on their sister.
Finally, Old Mr. Gibson spoke up, "Everyone should go home; one or two people staying here is enough. We don't need everyone here; Mollie needs rest."
Mrs. Gibson sighed as she looked at her daughter's pale face, "I'll stay here; you all go home."
"Auntie, how can we let you stay? It's our duty as her brothers. We're young; we'll stay here," Emiliano insisted.
The others agreed, "Yes, yes."
"We'll stay with our sister."
So, all the elders of the Gibson family left.
The tall and handsome men sat lined up on the sofa in the hospital room, attracting many passing nurses who wanted to catch a glimpse of them.
The nurses would occasionally pass by just to admire the handsome men inside.
But the men were either playing on their phones or handling business on their tablets, paying no attention to anyone else.
Hours passed by unnoticed.
It was already evening; the sun was setting, casting brilliant hues across the sky.
Emiliano checked the time, "It's dinner time. Should we order takeout or have someone from home bring food?"
"No need; we brought it ourselves."
A gentle voice suddenly sounded at the door of the hospital room.
Everyone looked over simultaneously and were instantly captivated.
"Mr. Hipps? Miss Andrews? You're here?"
At the door stood a strikingly attractive couple-a tall and handsome man and a beautiful woman-drawing everyone's attention immediately.
Their presence seemed to brighten up the gloomy hospital room instantly.
Sylvia and Clare each carried takeout boxes in their hands.
They walked into the room and opened the boxes, "We brought these from Golden Restaurant."
"Thank you both," Emiliano quickly invited his brothers over for dinner.
"How is Mollie?" Clare asked as he walked over to Mollie's bedside and gently held her cold hand, his eyes filled with concern.
Emiliano relayed everything the doctor had said to Clare and Sylvia.
"We don't know why she's not waking up."
Since entering the room, Sylvia had been observing Mollie closely. She now walked over to the bedside as well, "Uncle, let me check her pulse."
Clare immediately released Mollie's small hand upon hearing this.
Although Sylvia appeared to be checking Mollie's pulse externally, she sensed traces of formation magic at work.
Ordinary drowning victims would have woken up by now; it was impossible for her to remain unconscious this long.
Her hand rested on Mollie's wrist for several minutes before she let go and turned around to see several pairs of eyes fixed intently on her hand instead of eating their dinner.
Sylvia was momentarily stunned; having such doting brothers must be enviable!
"Miss Andrews, how is my sister?" Emiliano asked anxiously.
