Ever since Asher took Lysander's side during their wedding registration, choosing not to support Orson, Lysander had treated Asher as if he were invisible, paying him no attention at all.

But now that they had crossed paths, Lysander didn't act like before. Instead of ignoring him completely, he gave Asher a deliberate glance. That single look made Asher instantly back down. Adair might have been the one spouting nonsense, but Asher couldn't shake the feeling that Lysander would hold him accountable for the mess. He quickly clarified. "Adair's just making things up." "I am not!" Adair shot back. "Elara is obviously seducing him. Asher, why won't you admit it? Don't tell me you're still trying to defend her? She doesn't deserve it."novelbin

"Enough!" Asher growled through gritted teeth.

Adair let out a cold laugh, turning to Lysander. "I'll say this once. Lysander, you'd better rein in your wife or everyone in Starfield City is going to laugh at you."

Lysander's gaze shifted to Elara. He gave her a quick once-over before turning his attention back to Adair and Asher. "If my wife really did take an interest in him, it'd be his honor." Elara blinked and wondered, 'What the hell?' Even she didn't have the nerve to say something like that.

Adair stared at Lysander, utterly dumbfounded. 'Is this guy serious? Is he crazy?' she wondered.

Lysander noticed her disbelieving expression and added, "If this is such a big deal to you, and you think my wife is so infatuated with your boyfriend's face, then let's just destroy it. "She only likes handsome men, after all. Ugly ones wouldn't even catch her eye."

Adair was stunned speechless. This was clearly Elara's fault, but now Lysander was suggesting disfiguring Asher.

Adair couldn't believe her ears. "Lysander, instead of holding your wife accountable, you're threatening my boyfriend? Don't you think that's going too far?"

"I've always done things this way," Lysander replied nonchalantly. Turning to Magnus, he gave a simple command. "Do it."

Magnus stepped forward. Adair, unsure if Lysander was joking or not, panicked.

Everyone always said he was impossible to read. Adair quickly threw herself in front of Asher. "That's enough! Lysander, if you dare touch him, I swear I'll tell your father! You're completely out of control!" Lysander's voice remained calm, almost indifferent. "You're the one who claimed your boyfriend has something to do with my wife. Shall I remind you what the penalty is for interfering with my marriage?" "I-I was just talking nonsense, okay? There's nothing going on! I misunderstood!" Adair stammered, her resolve crumbling.

The thought of Asher suffering the consequences while Elara remained unscathed was unacceptable to her.

'Is Lysander insane? Shouldn't he be reprimanding Elara first?' Adair thought to herself.

Lysander's cold gaze bore into her. "Then apologize to my wife. If she forgives you, I'll let your boyfriend go, If not... He let his words trail off, his eyes briefly landing on Asher,

Lysander had disliked Asher from the start and was eager for any excuse to deal with him. Knowing Elara as well as he did, Lysander was certain she wouldn't have initiated any interaction with Asher.

Adair's face twisted with frustration. "You expect me to apologize to her?" She would rather grovel before Lysander than apologize to Elara.

In Adair's mind, it was Elara's fault Asher had never truly liked her.

Lysander's tone was icy as he replied, "Looks like you don't love your boyfriend that much after all."

Adair took a deep breath, then begrudgingly said to Elara, "I was wrong. I misunderstood. You didn't seduce my boyfriend. I'm sorry."

Elara watched her grovel, looking like a complete clown. For a moment, she didn't know how to respond.

Lysander's gaze shifted to Elara. "If you don't feel like forgiving her, then so be it. Mr. Blackwood seems quite infatuated with you. He probably wouldn't mind paying a little price for that."

Asher clenched his teeth at Lysander's smug demeanor, understanding the unspoken warning. He quickly spoke up. "Adair was out of line. I'll take her and leave now." Without waiting for a response, he grabbed Adair's arm and hurriedly led her away.

As the two figures disappeared, Lysander turned his attention to Elara.

"Thank you," Elara said.

Though she knew he could be incredibly jealous in private, he always managed to stay composed in public. He never wavered in taking her side, no matter the situation.

Just moments ago, Elara had been worried he might lose his temper, but he'd handled it perfectly. However, Lysander's face darkened at her gratitude. "Did you call Asher over here?"

"Why would I do that?" she said.

"Then why were they here?" he asked.

"They came on their own," Elara explained. "Asher knows Mr. Hassiron. He's probably here on some business. I didn't expect to run into them."
