After Death, Love Unveiled (Elara and Lysander)

Chapter 210

"Yeah." Lysander nodded.

"Then I'll stay here with you," Elara said.

If it was in the past, she would have gone back to work first. But knowing that Lysander was here, she decided to spend a couple more days with him.

Hearing her decision, Lysander glanced at her. "Not busy with your work anymore, Ms. Kensington?" She was always so serious about her job.

Elara smiled. "I need to spend time with you, too."

Lysander's gaze softened at her words. For a moment, he felt like he might have been too distant with her lately.

But in the next second, she added, "Mr. Hassiron recommended his newly developed resort to me today. He wants me to check it out. If you're free, why don't we go together?" Lysander let out a helpless chuckle. He quickly retracted his earlier thoughts.

That night, as they lay in bed, Lysander ignored her. Elara nudged him. "Are you coming with me? If you're not, I'll just ask Crispin and Juan to go with me."

Lysander turned toward her, giving her a sharp look. "Do you have to stay so close to Juan?"

"I really don't get why you're so prejudiced against her," Elara said. "She used to have feelings for you, and she's over that now. She's changed and won't act like she did before."

"She doesn't like me anymore," Lysander said. "But now, she likes you. Haven't you noticed the way she looks at you every time she sees you? Her eyes practically scream that she wants to glue herself to you. It makes me uncomfortable."

If it were just a normal friendship, he wouldn't care. But the possessive look Juan always had was enough to get under his skin.

"You're being too sensitive," Elara said with a sigh.

Lysander's voice dropped. "Elara, this just proves you don't care about how I feel. Otherwise, you'd listen to me."

"Okay, I'll listen!" Elara said, trying to pacify him. "I'll keep my distance and make sure nothing inappropriate happens between us. Satisfied?"

Elara had never considered that possibility Lysander mentioned, after all. 'I and Juan? That's something Lysander has really gone out of his way to imagine,' she wondered.

Still, to avoid upsetting him further, she didn't argue. Instead, she asked, "So, are you coming with me or not?"

"Have Crispin take you," Lysander said. "I'll join you later after I'm done with work."

"Alright." She nodded. Elara leaned closer to him, cuddling up against his side.novelbin

Lysander looked at Elara, the softness of her movements tugging at his resolve. He had intended to stay distant, but as she clung to him, his hand instinctively wrapped around her. Cursing himself internally for being so unsteadfast, he still held her close as they drifted off to sleep.

The next day, Elara and Crispin headed to the resort, with Juan accompanying them, Juan had been spending her days at the care center, and since Elara had no one else to hang out with she decided to bring Juan along. Crispin drove while music played softly in the car. Elara sat in t back, noticing Juan staring at her. When Elara caught her, Juan quickly averted her gaze.

"What are you staring at me for?" Elara asked.

"Nothing. I just think you're really pretty," Juan said softly.

Hearing this, Elara raised her hand and gently turned Juan's face toward her, forcing her to meet her gaze. Juan's eyes filled with nervousness as she stammered, "M-Ms. Kensington..."

Her voice trembled, and her discomfort was palpable as the two of them sat so close.

Crispin glanced at them through the rearview mirror and smirked. "Elara, if you keep that up, I'm going to tattle to Lysander. He told me to keep an eye on you, you know."

Elara rolled her eyes at Crispin. "Just drive." She turned back to Juan, who shifted uncomfortably under her gaze.

Juan stammered, "Elara, why are you looking at me like that?"

Elara grinned. "Do you like me?"

"What? Of course not! Who said that?" Juan's flustered reaction was amusing.

Elara chuckled. "I knew it. No way. We're both straight." Clearly, Lysander had overthought things.

Elara leaned back into her seat, a wry smile playing on her lips.

Beside her, Juan silently observed Elara. Her elbow rested on the car window, long, wavy hair cascading over her shoulders. Her delicate face peeked out from the strands, making her look like an angel. Juan, with her short haircut that had only recently grown out a bit, often appeared more boyish than feminine. In her eyes, she and Elara were worlds apart.

When they arrived at the resort, Elara presented her VIP card, courtesy of Adam Hassiron. The staff welcomed them warmly and escorted them in.

Juan and Crispin each had their own rooms. Special care had been arranged for Juan due to her mobility issues.

Elara came downstairs to play golf and waited in the lobby for Crispin to join her. As she scrolled through her phone, someone called out, "Het, Elara." Looking up, she saw Adair standing in front of her. Elara's expression shifted to surprise. "What are you doing here?

"I should be asking you that," Adair retorted, frowning. "I barely got a chance to take a trip with Asher, and here you are. Did you follow us on purpose?"

Elara couldn't help but laugh. "Are you

delusional?"

Adair pressed on. "Asher and I have already met each other's families. We're getting married soon. I don't want trouble, but I'm not afraid of you. If you try to seduce him, I'll make sure Lysander knows all about it."

As Adair spoke, Asher appeared. The weather was mild, so he was dressed lightly. When Elara saw him, she smirked at Adair. "Seduce him? If he stripped naked in front of me, I still wouldn't be interested."

Asher sauntered over, smirking "Want me to strip right now and test that theory?"

Such a shameless man! she wondered. Elara shot him a scornful look. "Save it for your girlfriend. I don't want to burn my

eyes.

As they talked. Adair's gaze darted to Asher. "Don't you dare! Why should she get to see it? I haven't even seen it!"

Elara couldn't hold back her laughter. Adair glared at her. "What's so funny?"

"You two are about to get married, and you haven't even seen it Elara teased.

Adair snapped back. "What does that have to do with you?"

Elara raised an eyebrow. "Alright, don't overthink it. He might not want to show his physique simply because he's not confident about his body shape."

"Elara!" Asher's expression darkened. "There's a price for running your mouth."

"Oh?" Elara retorted. "And what price would that be?"

Before Asher could respond, Crispin walked up, glancing coldly at Asher and Adair before positioning himself beside Elara.

Since taking care of Juan there, Crispin no longer worked as Asher's bodyguard.

Seeing Asher again, Crispin let out a derisive laugh. "Mr. Blackwood, it's been a while. Looks like you've grown some nerve." Asher's eyes narrowed. He knew Crispin was just Lysander's lackey, and trouble always followed wherever he appeared. Back in school, Crispin had been the same, constantly going after Asher on Lysander's behalf. Even now, years graduation, Crispin was still playing the loyal lapdog.

But Asher wasn't afraid anymore. He sneered at Crispin. "Still stuck being Lysander's lapdog, I see."

"You wish you could have that privilege," Crispin shot back with a cold smile, his gaze shifting to Adair. "Well, if it isn't Ms. Balslev. So, you turned down a marriage alliance with me for this guy?"
