After Death, Love Unveiled (Elara and Lysander)

Chapter 208

Elara said, "Introducing Evelyn to all of you was already a show of my sincerity. As for Asher, yes, my dad did invest in him, but I haven't been involved in their business."

Billy sat nearby, watching Elara as if he had something on his mind.

Elara continued, "I understand that Asher's company is doing well now. He's indeed scized a significant share of the market, but this is a long road. In the end, I'm confident we can do even better. "I believe both of you are more than capable of achieving that."

Adam responded, "That's easy to say, but Asher has QuickClip as his initial platform, which brings him a massive amount of traffic. It's why he's doing better than us..

"If we had another option, we wouldn't have asked you to come. We just wanted to have a conversation, nothing more."

"I understand," Elara replied, fully aware of their concerns.

Unlike her, they lacked the advantage of hindsight, which left them uncertain about pursuing this path.

For example, Adam's current company, Mandinion Technology, was already performing exceptionally well.

Yet now, he had to divide his attention to tackle these challenges, including dealing with a competitor like Asher. Naturally, that led to anxiety.

The road to success was never easy. Without knowing the outcome, it would be tempting to give up on the first major hurdle.

Elara offered. "What problems are you dealing with now? Let me know and see if I can give you any

advice."

The ideas in her head were all things they had once conceived of themselves. She was just the courier. But she was the one with the answers.

Elara spent a long time with them in the conference room, offering plenty of suggestions. Both Billy and Adam felt a sense of enlightenment after hearing her insights.

"I could never quite figure this out before, but the way you explained it made everything instantly clear. You're incredible," said Billy.

Elara smiled and said, "No, Mr. Walker. You flater me."

After all, Billy wasn't an ordinary figure. Elara had merely nudged things in the right direction. When the meeting ended, everyone was in good spirits.

Adam invited Elara to dinner, but she declined. She remembered that Lysander was still waiting for her and wanted to head back early.

In the end, Adam simply offered her access to a resort he owned suggesting she visit whenever she had time to relax. Elara accepted it. She rarely came here. If she was free, it was rare for her to relax. When Elara returned to her place, she stepped out of the car, thinking about how she had hurried back to see Lysander, and surely, he'd be happy about that.

But when she walked through the door, Lysander was nowhere to be seen. Instead, she was greeted by Juan, who was sitting

in a wheelchair.

"Hi, Miss Kensington!" Juan greeted her.

Surprised, Elara looked at her. "Juan, what brings you here?"

AY

Juan replied, "I heard there was an accident when you came down the mountain yesterday. I was worried about you, so I stopped by to check on you. Are you okay?" Her eyes were full of concern.

"I'm fine," Elara said. She thought back to the crash, recalling how Lysander had held her tightly. The sense of security he gave her was unforgettable.

Even though she hadn't been injured, the memory still moved her. In moments of danger, people were most likely to fall for

someone.

Elara added, "Lysander got hurt a bit, but it happened while he was rescuing someone."

"Okay," Juan responded indifferently.

Juan didn't care in the slightest about Lysander's injuries. As long as Elara was unharmed, that was all that mattered to her. Elara said, You came all the way here just for this? You're too kind to me. So kind, in fact, that Lysander might get jealous." Thinking about how Lysander even got jealous of women sometimes made her find the whole thing amusing. Hearing this, Juan asked, "Do you think he doesn't like me being around you?" Juan knew very well that Lysander didn't like her.

Because of what had happened back then, he held a grudge against her.

Out of basic decency, Lysander had made sure someone looked after her. But, considering what her father had done, it was already a miracle she hadn't been implicated.

In Juan's opinion, Lysander clearly didn't want her getting too close to anyone in his family.

Elara reassured her. "No, he wouldn't mind. Don't let his cold demeanor fool you. He's actually a pretty good person."

As they spoke, Lysander walked in from outside. When Elara saw him, she asked, "Why weren't you resting at home? Where did you go?"

Lysander was wearing a black jacket, the cold air of the outdoors still clinging to him. His handsome face carried a trace of sharpness. He looked directly at Juan. "What are you doing here?"

Juan lifted her head to meet his gaze. She didn't need him to say anything more. She could feel it. He didn't like her. Just from his expression, she sensed his disdain.

In a timid voice, Juan explained, "I just came to check on Elara. I heard about the accident and was really worried about her." "You could have just called. Stop showing up here to see Elara," Lysander said coldly.

Hearing his words, Juan lowered her head. Elara, witnessing this turned to Lysander. "She came because she was concerned about me."

Lysander called out, "Hey, Crispin."novelbin

Crispin entered the room. "Yes, Lysander?"

"Take Ms. Swift home. Lysander's tone was unyielding, his demeanor icy.

Juan glanced at him, then turned to Elara. "Elara, I'll head back. come see you again sometime

Crispin walked over and began pushing Juan's wheelchair toward the door.

Only after she had left did Lysander turn back to Elara, his gaze fixed on her. "Didn't I tell you to limit your interactions with her" Elara replied, "I know how you are, but you were too cold to her

Lysander's eyes narrowed. "You really like her?"

"Lysander, your jealousy is completely pointless," Elara said. "I told you, she's just a friend. Do you realize how much your attitude hurts her?" Lysander stared at her and replied, "When I talk to you, you never listen. Everyone else is more important than me." With that, he turned and went upstairs. Elara watched him go, battled. 'Is this really necessary? What's he trying to do? Why is he so angry?' she wondered.

Downstairs, the servant had prepared dinner. Elara asked her, "Could you call Lysander down to eat?"

The servant replied, "Mr. Hawthorne said he won't be coming down for dinner."

Elara frowned. 'Oh, great. So now he is throwing a tantrum?' she thought. She got up and headed upstairs to find him. Lysander, what's going on with you?"

She pushed open the door and entered, seeing Lysander seated at his desk, a video conference open on his laptop. Several other people were visible on the screen. He was clearly in the middle of work. When Lysander noticed her, he removed his headset and looked at her. "What's wrong?"

"Are you busy?" she asked.

"In a meeting," Lysander replied, his expression serious.

Elara was stunned for a moment.

From the video, someone spoke up. "Lysander, is that your wife? She's beautiful! When's the wedding? Let us know so we can attend!"
