A kiss

Love’ss 211

Andrew unbuckled Madelyn’s seatbelt and gently pinched her tear- streaked cheek. “Come on, little kitten. It’s time for lunch.”

“I’m not going,” Madelyn said stubbornly.

She sniffled, feeling both angry and upset.

Andrew’s silence only made things worse. He wasn’t explaining anything about his relationship with Laura, which made her feel even more hurt. It seemed like he was avoiding the topic, and that made her even more frustrated.

Madelyn knew she had made mistakes, but knowing that Andrew had spent years with Laura and gone straight to her after their divorce made her feel even worse.

Natalie’s comments about Andrew and Laura’s past only added to her feelings. Andrew’s refusal to say anything at this moment just made her

anger grow.

Andrew took a wet wipe from the glove compartment and gently wiped the tears from her face. “Look at you, still crying like a kid.”

Madelyn grabbed the wet wipe from him and said, “Is the main issue really that my makeup is messed up?”

“No,” he said, laughing.

“Then explain what’s going on,” she said. She had always been explaining things about Easton. Why wasn’t he explaining now?

Andrew couldn’t stop laughing.

Madelyn’s face showed her frustration. “You’re laughing? What’s so funny?

Seeing her get angrier, he tried to stop laughing. “Okay, I’ll stop. Let’s just go have lunch, okay?

“I’m not going,” Madelyn said firmly.

Andrew kissed her cheek and said gently, “I’m hungry, Let’s go, and we’ll talk about this later.”

Madelyn was about to say more, but he had already gotten out of the car. He walked around to her side and opened the door. “Darling, do you want at hug?”

Madelyn glared at him, even more frustrated,

It was already noon, and Andrew was worried that explaining things now. might be bad for her stomach.

When she still didn’t move, Andrew picked her up and carried her out of the car. People walking by stopped and stared, clearly impressed.

The cobblestone alley was full of young people shopping. A woman pulled. on her boyfriend’s arm and said, “Look at how he treats his girlfriend!”

Her boyfriend responded, “His girlfriend is so slim! You’re too heavy for me to carry!”

The woman shot back, “You think I’m fat? Fine! If you like skinny girls, go find one and see if she can give you a child!”

Seeing what was happening, Madelyn struggled to get down. Andrew, noticing her attempts to break free, carefully put her back on her feet.

As soon as she was standing, Andrew reached out to grab her hand. Madelyn tried to pull away, but he held on tightly. “If you don’t want to make a scene, just behave.”

“You…” Madelyn said, clearly frustrated.

He was captivated by her flustered look and was already thinking about how to “punish” her when they got home.

At Moonlit Restaurant, Lily knew they were coming and quickly prepared. their favorite dishes, including a bowl of beef stew for Madelyn.

Andrew served her the beef stew first. “Drink this to warm up your stomach. You don’t want it to start hurting again.”

Chap 211

He wondered how the Garcia family had taken care of Madelyn. She had been in great health at the Miller residence, but after just a few years with the Garcias, her health had gotten so bad.

This made Andrew even more frustrated.

He took a portion of the beef stew and placed it in front of her, but Madelyn didn’t touch it. She just stared at him.

Andrew realized that when Madelyn was stubborn, she was really stubborn.

He picked her up and sat her on his lap. “Alright, stop being mad. Let’s just eat.”

“What’s your relationship with her?” Madelyn asked.

“There’s no relationship,” Andrew said.

“No relationship? Then, why did you…” Madelyn stopped, not sure how to finish her question.

She knew asking why he went straight to Laura after their divorce in her past life might start a big argument.

Andrew said, “We’re just former classmates, nothing more.”
