Chapter 104
Chapter 104
When Amelia said this, that emotionless face finally had a bit of a ripple, her face covered with a smirk as she shot Kaley a sarcastic smile.
"No!" Kaley snapped at her angrily. "How dare you call me a mistress?"
"Well, if you're not a mistress, how come you're so clingy to her husband and shamelessly use their shared property? Not to mention running around like a dog causing trouble?" Amelia said, one hand in her white coat pockets and an innocent expression on her baby face despite her harsh words.
"I get it now, you're not even as good as a mistress. At least mistresses have some status..." Amelia trailed off, glancing towards Brett, her smile deepening.
Brett sternly said, "Dr. Amelia, please watch your words."
"I'll give your words right back to you," Amelia retorted without hesitation. "Some people have such poor judgment, not even knowing who's friend or foe around them. Don't you think so, President Windham?"
She gave Brett a light smile.
Brett's eyes flashed with an ominous light, clearly angry.
Kaley suddenly stepped forward, her voice shrill. "What the hell is wrong with you? Don't you know how to respect others? I'll get you kicked out by the dean!"
Amelia's face held a smile, but her eyes were devoid of amusement. "Sure, go ahead. But before you get me kicked out, let's deal with your slander of Izabella first. You said she tried to kill you, but I want to know: how could she have the strength to do it after having a miscarriage? And if she wanted to kill you, why are you unharmed while she's injured?"
Kaley's face stiffened. "That's because I dodged in time, so she didn't hurt me."
Amelia countered, "Really? Then why did I hear the nurses who were there say you hid in Brett's arms looking injured? Are you pretending just to frame Izabella?"
Kaley's face was filled with resentment and a hint of injustice, "No! She really wanted to kill me!"
"And why would she want to kill you?"
By this point, Kaley hadn't realized she was being completely controlled by Amelia. "Because she's jealous of me!" she said on instinct.
Amelia scoffed derisively. "Jealous of you because you're uglier or because you can only rely on men? Or maybe she's jealous that you know how to seduce her husband?"
Kaley opened her mouth to argue but before she could speak, Amelia immediately continued to attack her.
"Don't bring emotions into this. I don't believe someone who's lost so much that their life's in shambles and had a miscarriage would still have feelings for the person who caused it," Amelia was speaking to Kaley but her eyes were directed at Brett.
Kaley was stunned, her pretty face frozen. She wanted to refute the woman's words, but she couldn't come up with a single thing to say.
Amelia pulled her hand out from her coat pocket, holding a phone. The screen flashed with a message. Amelia pressed on the latest message, opening a video that had just been sent.
"As we're worried about patients having sudden emergencies in the intensive care unit, we've installed surveillance cameras in the corners of the rooms," she mentioned offhandedly as the video played.
Kaley's face went pale with dread in an instant.
Amelia turned up the volume and muttered, "I must say, this video is so clear, it captures certain people's hideous and disgusting faces perfectly."
Kaley, frightened, tightly gripped Brett's hand. "Brett, don't listen to her, don't watch it! The video must be edited..."
Before Kaley could finish, her voice came through the phone after a burst of static.
