Chapter 260
Chapter 260
Oscar's voice was bewitching. Luna wanted to hang up when the desire of becoming Mrs. Thomas took the better of her. Luna took a deep breath.
"Yes, I have thought it through. How do we do it?"
"I will give you an address later. Go there tomorrow and find the designated storage box. There is medicine in it," Oscar said flatly.
"I got it," Luna forced herself to answer in a calm tone, and then immediately hung up the phone.
Lucas did not return to the Thomas' villa for two weeks. During that time, he received a call from Olivia. Olivia heard about Lucas' wedding and knew that Justin was hospitalized.
She wanted to return to LA, saying that she wanted to visit Justin.
Lucas rejected her. Olivia wanted to say something, but Lucas had already hung up the phone in frustration.
On Monday morning, Lucas took a shower in the office suite. When he just sat down in front of his desk, the phone rang again. He frowned and looked at the phone screen. It was Dwayne.
He pressed the answer button.
"Good morning, Mr. Thomas," said Dwayne.
"Morning," Lucas replied indifferently.
"Mr. Thomas has already applied for the discharge procedures," reported Dwayne, "In addition, Miss Luna Cheek once visited Justin a few days ago. Mr. Justin Thomas was sleeping then. She sat for a while and left."
"Don't let her disturb grandpa next time." Lucas frowned slightly. "Has grandpa recovered?
"Yes, the doctor has checked his body. As long as he takes the medicine on time, it will be OK." Dwayne replied honestly.
"Okay, I'll get off work tomorrow and go home," Lucas said and hung up the phone.
The share price of the Thomas Group was indeed not optimistic, but the ridiculed wedding was not the only cause.
Ever since Jessica divorced Lucas, the Thomas family had been plagued by all kinds of scandals. What happened today was just an outbreak of all the past events.
Lucas was actually not pessimistic. He believed that a lot of higher-ups in the company were contributing less than they were supposed to. It would be good if he could take the chance to drive them out of the company.
That was why Lucas didn't ask the PR department to revise the company's reputation. He wasn't in a hurry to make the share price bounce back.
As he had expected, in the past few years, the higher-ups of the Thomas Group and their trusted aides complained a lot. Back then, they were too afraid of Lucas to complain.
Yesterday, an executive even ran up to Lucas and asked him to turn the tide. Lucas immediately asked him to leave the company.
The shareholder meeting would be held next week. He knew that these people had long been unable to restrain themselves and wanted to make things difficult for him. He also wanted to take this opportunity
to get a clear understanding of the complicated relationship network within the group.
After a busy day, Lucas took out Jessica's old-fashioned mobile phone in the evening.
For the past few days, he would look at the messages stored on this phone every night. It was all about Jessica's feelings for him.
Lucas could only feel Jessica's love for him when he was reading these messages.
Lucas had always been brave to face reality. But this time, he didn't have the guts. He didn't wanna face the fact that Jessica was no longer in love with him.
He allowed himself to indulge in Jessica's previous love for him.
The sky in LA gradually darkened. Lucas' huge office gradually became dark. He stood up and walked to the French window. Looking at the night view of LA through the glass, mixed feelings aroused.
He wondered what Jessica was doing at this time.
Perhaps she was dating Terry, or she was laughing at Lucas with Hannah.
Lucas felt bitter.
Lucas put out the cigar in his hand and loosened his tie. He planned to take a shower in the suite before resting.
In these two weeks, he did not sleep well. But now, he had to raise up to face the upcoming storm in the company.
At dawn, Lucas was sleeping soundly when his cell phone suddenly rang.
