Linda and Jimmy both looked over.

“What’s the matter, Mr. Wilson?‘ Linda asked.

“I’m injured because of you. Don’t you think that you should take responsibility for it?”

I

Linda felt that she was already being very patient. “Did I not come in person, or did I not pay for your

treatment?”

Looking at William, she continued, “To be honest, your injury is self–inflicted, Mr. Wilson. It has little to do with me. I didn’t ask you to shield me.

“If it had hit me, it would’ve been easier for me to sue Lucy,” Linda said confidently.

William was at a loss for words. After a long pause, he said, “Don’t be like this, Linda.”

“Mr. Wilson, Linda has already compensated you. If you’re still not satisfied, there’s nothing more we can do,” Jimmy said.

“We?” William chuckled.

“What do you have to do with her? Do you have the right to say ‘we‘?” William said sarcastically.

Jimmy remained calm and said, “I’m her current partner. It certainly gives me more standing than you, Mr.

Wilson.”

“We’ve already given you the maximum compensation, Mr. Wilson. There’s no need to push your luck,” Linda added, not wanting to quarrel in the hospital. There were some things that couldn’t be made public.

“If you have dinner with me tonight, we’ll call it even. What do you think, Linda?” William’s eyes burned with intensity as he looked at her.

Linda raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure it’s just dinner?”

“Of course. Just dinner.”

“After dinner, you won’t bother me about your injury anymore?” Linda asked.

“That’s right. After dinner, my back injury will have nothing to do with you, Linda Felix.”

“And you promise not to bother me again?”

“I promise. I have no reason to lie to you,” William said.

Linda swallowed the refusal she was about to voice out. “Alright, I hope you’ll keep your word, Mr. Wilson.”

“I will.”

Jimmy was concerned and asked, “Linda, do you really trust him?”

“No. But I’m willing to take the chance.” She left the latter part unsaid, but both William and Jimmy

understood.

Linda wanted to end her entanglement With

she decided to gamble..

William’s heart ached.

Linda noticed that Jimmy’s IV drip was nearly empty and called a nurse to change it.

“Is this the last one?”

“It’s the last one for today. But he’ll need to continue for three more days,” the nurse said.

Linda looked at Jimmy sympathetically. “Maybe you should go back to Wengland.”

“No, I can’t. My next project is being filmed in Osmo. I have to stay here for at least a year and a half.”

Jimmy’s eyes sparkled. “I hope when I return to Wengland, you’ll decide to leave Osmo, too. Then, we can leave together.”

“Let’s hope so…

Linda stayed with Jimmy during his IV treatment, occasionally checking on William. She realized she had been overly cautious. William didn’t need her supervision. The nurse, though not present, was monitoring

his IV.

“You drove here, right?” Jimmy asked, noticing there was still a quarter of the IV left.

“Yes. I told you earlier that I was driving.”

“Then, could you give me a ride back to the hotel later? I didn’t drive or call my assistant.” Jimmy began.

to act pitiful.

Linda sighed. “But when he was in Usna, someone said countless times he would never ride in my car.”

That was the first time Linda drove alone. She ran into Jimmy at the door, who insisted on getting in her car. Then, he got so carsick that he vomited as soon as he got out.

“That was then. I believe your driving skills have improved,” Jimmy said.

Just as Linda was about to agree, William’s voice interrupted.
