Chapter 91
My Husband Wants Me Dead By Spring Sprout Chapter 91
Crystalline tears fell like a broken string of pearls, sliding off Esther’s porcelain face drop after drop.
Bradley stared at Esther with a mix of anger and frustration welling up inexplicably
in his heart. He released his grip on her hand and forcefully held her jaw, coldly and cruelly questioning,
“Esther Quill, what are you up to!?”
Esther widened her eyes, looking at Bradley with fear as tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
“It hurts, Brad.”
A tear fell onto the back of Bradley’s hand he used to squeeze Esther’s jaw. It felt like he had been spla
shed with scalding oil, causing him to let go instantly. He looked at her with a gaze filled with
scrutiny and confusion, observing the stark
contrast between the current Esther and the one he knew
before.
“Mommy!”
Felix cautiously poked his head out from the doorway of the hospital room. When he saw
Esther regain consciousness from her coma, he completely forgot that he was still hooked up to an IV, r
ushed into her embrace, and called out in a sweet and adorable voice, “Mommy, you’re awake?”
‘It is great that Mommy woke up!‘
Esther reached out and hugged Felix, planting a loving kiss on his forehead. “Why is my son so handso
me?”
Bradley watched the interaction between Esther and Felix and
felt as if his eyes were playing tricks on him.
What exactly was going on with these two people in front of him? Why did everything feel so eerie?
Bradley reached out to take Felix from Esther’s embrace. Felix, come here. She’s not your mother.”
“She is, Daddy…” Felix was overjoyed, completely forgetting Clark’s reminder. He just wanted to live ha
ppily ever after with his parents–oh, and Pixie. The four of them would stay together forever.
Bradley did not want to stall with Felix, so he forcefully and dominantly attempted to snatch him away, b
ut Esther refused to let go. She lowered her head and bit Bradley’s hand hard.
“You’re not allowed to take my son!”
The astute Felix gradually noticed that something was off with Esther. He poked his little head out from
her embrace and gently said, “Daddy, call the doctor.”
Helpless, Bradley let go, and Esther held Felix even tighter as if afraid that the boy would vanish if she l
et go.
Bradley rubbed his temples, feeling a headache, and pressed the call button.
The doctor arrived promptly in the hospital ward and looked at Bradley in confusion upon seeing Esther
tightly clutching Felix.
What was going on?
Bradley’s expression was gloomy and extremely indifferent as he said, “Check her head.”
Esther looked pitifully at Bradley with her hands tightly wrapped around Felix.
The doctor noticed the IV needle in Felix’s hand and kindly suggested, “Ma’am, let me examine you firs
t, okay?”
Esther glanced at the doctor and then at Felix. Out of the corner of her eyes, she noticed that the blood
had started flowing back into the IV needle on Felix’s hand and spoke softly. “Please check on my son
first.‘
The doctor could only comply with Esther’s request and began examining Felix’s small hand.
“The blood is flowing back a bit, but the needle hasn’t come out of place. It’s not a big deal,” the doctor
reassured them but added a cautionary note, “Mr. Felix, please try to remain still. If the needle gets disl
odged, we’ll have to administer another injection.”
“Doctor, please check on my mommy first.”
Felix sat obediently on the bed, not moving, as he watched Esther intently.
“Mommy, let the doctor examine you.”
