Chapter 1653
After hearing Carmen's threats, Skylar's voice turned icy. "If you don't apologize to my daughter today, you won't need to worry about attending this school anymore."
Carmen sneered. "What did you just say? Look at you, no power or connections, yet you're talking big. Let me tell you, the principal of this kindergarten is a close friend of my aunt. All it takes is one word from me to have your kid kicked out."
"Oh? Then let's see you try," Skylar said indifferently.
She crouched down to look at Vivian. "Vivian, Edgar is waiting for you at the school gate. Why don't you go home with him for now?"
"Okay, Mom," Vivian agreed obediently.
Skylar turned to Ulva and asked, "Ms. Cox, could you help take Vivian outside?"
What came next was an issue for the adults. Skylar didn't want Vivian's innocence tainted by witnessing the ugliness of people like Carmen.
But as Ulva led Vivian away, Carmen stormed forward, attempting to block their way. "Leave? You're not going anywhere until you apologize," she declared.
Without a care that she was the adult and Vivian was just a child, Carmen reached out to shove her. Skylar swiftly grabbed Carmen's hand, and her expression darkened.
Carmen tried to pull her hand free but failed. "You-!"
"Ms. Vaughn, could you please call the principal? I'd like her to personally inform Mrs. Martin that she and her child are no longer welcome here. I don't want Nadia's classmates to include some broke loser! Making such a big deal over some stickers-it's like she's gone mad from being poor." Just then, the principal, Elvira Clem, arrived. Concerned by how the situation was escalating, Melanie had messaged Elvira for help. Though Melanie understood that Carmen was being completely unreasonable, she also knew that Carmen did indeed have ties to Elvira.
This relationship made it hard to openly confront her, despite her clear misconduct. The teachers liked Vivian and didn't want her to leave the school. After assessing the situation, Elvira spoke firmly, showing no leniency toward Carmen. "I've reviewed what happened, Mrs. Becker. The fault lies with Nadia, not Vivian."
Skylar raised an eyebrow in surprise. She hadn't expected such a direct response.
However, Carmen was utterlynoveldrama
shocked. She stared at Elvira in disbelief. "Mrs. Rehbein, how can this be Nadia's fault? It's all because Vivian overreacted. If she hadn't made such a big deal out of this, things wouldn't have escalated. Just look at how upset Nadia is-she's crying her heart out."
By now, Nadia had mostly stopped crying, though she continued sniffling quietly.
Elvira frowned and turned to Skylar.
"Mrs. Martin, I assure you I'll give you a satisfactory resolution to this matter. I'm fully aware of who's at
fault here. I apologize for the trouble this has caused you."
Elvira's stance shocked Carmen. Her eyes widened in disbelief. Even the three teachers looked surprised, as it became clear that Elvira was more concerned about upsetting Skylar than appeasing Carmen.
Skylar nodded calmly. "Okay."
She glanced at the watch. "I'll be leaving now."
After Skylar left, Elvira turned to Carmen. "Mrs. Becker, please come to my office."
Though Carmen was furious, she had no choice but to follow. Once inside the office, her frustration boiled over.
She said, "Mrs. Rehbein, they need to
apologize to me and Nadia. If they don't, I take this to the media and expose them. The only reason haven't done it yet is because of my aunt's connection to you."
What do you think?
