Love At The Wrong Table

Love at the 1969

The woman in red proudly responded, “I am Lady Rosa, the third disciple of

Maestro Moretti.”

“Understood, Lady Rosa!” Xander, surprisingly humble, bowed his head

respectfully. “The Quill family only asks for a few VIP seats near the front. We

will be on our best behavior and greatly appreciate the chance to enjoy

Maestro Moretti’s performance.”

“Do as you wish. It’s none of my concern,” Lady Rosa said dismissively,

showing no concern for his request. She then warned, “If anyone starts

another fight, I’ll personally handle them.”

With that, she turned and walked away, but not before casting a brief glance

at Shane, leaving him feeling as though he had met her before. He racked his

brain, trying to remember her.

Suddenly, it hit him. “Wait a minute! She’s the Snake Master’s sister!”

Only after Lady Rosa had left did Shane realize who she was. He hadn’t

interacted with her much before but had seen her once during his time with

Emmanuel.

No wonder she had given me that look. But how did she end up as Maestro

Moretti’s disciple?

“What’s wrong, Shane? Do you know her?” Sonia asked curiously.

“I do. She actually has a huge crush on Manny!” Shane boasted, puffing out

his chest as though the crush was directed at him.

Sonia just smiled lightly, not taking his words too seriously. After getting their

tickets, the two entered the venue. Surprisingly, the Quill family remained

quiet and behaved themselves.

Owen, still fuming, waited until they were out of the public eye before

confronting Xander. “Uncle Xander, why were we being so respectful to that

Maestro Moretti? Isn’t she just an opera singer with a bit of fame?”

“If you want to live, shut your mouth!” Xander shot him a sharp glare. “You

have no idea how deep Maestro Moretti’s connections run. The Quill family

can’t afford to offend her. Understood?”

Owen nodded, though his confusion remained. He couldn’t understand why

their powerful family, backed by the Tanner family from Zovince, would be so

cautious of a mere performer.

After the Quill family and Shane’s group had settled inside, Gwain, along with

Roselynn and his two companions, arrived at the venue. With the Lannister

family’s prestige, they were granted VIP tickets, though, like Shane and Sonia,

they were not given access to the front–row VIP suite reserved by Isabella.

“Mr. Gwain, this is an outrage!” Hank complained. “You’re the legendary

Southern Lannister, heir to one of the Four Great Aristocratic Families of

Zovince. Who in Eldoria could possibly outrank you?”

Gwain was already irritated, and Hank’s words only fueled his curiosity. Who

could be so important that even someone of his status didn’t warrant the

best seats?

Before they could enter, Lady Rosa appeared again, this time addressing

Gwain and his group. “I’m one of Maestro Moretti’s disciples. I’ve come to

apologize on her behalf. Normally, for someone like you, Mr. Lannister, we

would reserve a VIP suite. However, today is a special case.”

Gwain’s temper subsided slightly at her words, and he responded with a

forced smile. “I’ve admired Maestro Moretti for a long time. It’s enough for me

to simply hear her perform tonight. The seating arrangements aren’t

important. But I can’t help but wonder–who has she reserved the VIP suites

for?

Roselynn’s eyes locked onto Lady Rosa, trying desperately to catch her

attention. She knew who exactly this woman was: the Snake Master’s sister,

an ally! But despite Roselynn’s silent pleas, Lady Rosa acted as if she hadn’t

noticed.

Lady Rosa smiled at Gwain. “The VIP suites are reserved for individuals even

more distinguished than you, Mr. Lannister.”

“What?!” Hank and Wyatt gasped in disbelief.

Even Gwain’s lips twitched slightly in shock. No one had ever dared to speak

to him like that. His anger flared as he smiled coldly. “Well, then, I’ll be sure to

see just who these people are.”

Lady Rosa wasn’t done. She added with a smirk, “I’d advise against being too

curious, Mr. Lannister. Curiosity killed the cat, after all. If you offend those two

guests, you may find yourself regretting it.”

With that parting remark, she left, leaving Gwain seething.

Gwain clenched his fists, unable to suppress his growing anger. “I can’t

believe this! Who dares to claim a position higher than mine?”

Lady Rosa, well aware of the legend of the Northern Wolf King and the

Southern Lannister, found Gwain’s reputation laughable. How could someone

like him ever be compared to the likes of Emmanuel Lowe?
